Henkel AG & Co. KGaA signed an agreement to acquire The Bergquist Company, a privately-held leading supplier of thermal-management solutions for the electronics industry worldwide.

Henkel Expands Line of Loctite® LED-Compatible Adhesives 

Henkel has expanded its comprehensive offering of LED-compatible Loctite® adhesives, sealants, potting materials and threadlockers. The LED-compatible line now includes 38 products that improve the reliability and help lower the manufacturing costs of these lighting devices. While the presence of incompatible adhesives can impair the performance of LEDs, use of LED-compatible Loctite® products helps to ensure long life, even for components exposed to extreme temperatures, dust/dirt, vibration and underwater submersion.

Henkel showcased at Walmart Sustainable Product Expo 

This April Walmart hosted its first-ever Sustainable Product Expo, a three-day event aimed at expanding sustainable products, reducing waste and promoting recycling. Walmart invited multiple global companies, including Henkel, to the Expo held at its headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas. Walmart also invited Henkel to participate in meetings with Walmart leadership and manage an exhibition booth to showcase our sustainable consumer products and industrial adhesive technologies, such as our innovative low VOC, toluene-free shoe adhesives.

A new video from Henkel Corporation goes inside the Polaris manufacturing facility to show how the company is using Loctite® anaerobic threadlockers and retaining compounds to enhance the durability of its snowmobiles. In the video, available at, engineers from Polaris explain why they trust Loctite® anaerobics and discuss specific applications where the adhesives are used. Polaris sleds are the choice of competitive snocross racers and X Games athletes because they are built to endure the punishment of full-out driving maneuvers, high loads and even crashes.

Henkel wins 2014 “Automotive News” PACE Award 

In recognition of its innovative Bonderite Flex Process, Henkel won the 2014 “Automotive News” PACE (Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence) Award in the Manufacturing Process and Capital Equipment category. Henkel received the honor April 7 at a black-tie ceremony at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit.

Henkel Electronics wins awards for new product innovations 

The Electronics Group of Henkel won two New Product Innovation (NPI) Awards at the APEX event in Las Vegas in late March. APEX is a major technical conference and exhibition for the electronics manufacturing industry. The Electronics Group won for both its high-reliability solder system – LOCTITE MULTICORE HF 212 flux medium and 90iSC alloy – and LOCTITE TAF 8800 thermal absorbent film.

Henkel earns first place award at Chemical Hazard Communication poster session 

Henkel representatives earned a first place award for their presentation at the 16th Annual Technical Poster Session hosted by the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication. This poster session was part of the group’s Spring Conference held in Charleston, SC on March 25-26. Presenting on behalf of Henkel was: Senthil Pichandi, Director, Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs, Adhesive Technologies North America; Gary Pierson, Manager, Regulatory Affairs, and Matt Donelan, Director, Product Management, General Industry North America.

Henkel-sponsored athletes win medals at Winter X Games 

Henkel sponsored a team of extreme athletes – under its Loctite brand – to compete in a variety of events such as the SnoCross Freestyle, SnoCross Long Jump, Snowboarder X, Snomobile SnoCross, and Snowmobile SnoCross Adaptive at the 2014 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado in mid-January. Over 108,000 enthusiastic fans attended the event at Buttermilk Mountain, where the X Games have been held for the past 12 years. A record-breaking 48,000 people packed the venue on Saturday to see athletes compete in SnoCross, Snowboarding, and Skiing.
